Junior High Youth Group In addition to attending Sunday School and LOGOS, the Junior High Youth Group participates in a variety of philanthropic activities. The unofficial motto for the Junior High Youth Group is "Service to Jesus Christ, our congregation and our community". The kids volunteer their time doing different things for both the congregation and the community. Among many other things, they are responsible for setting up and serving at each Caring Dinner (held bi-monthly at Ridgewood UMC). This group was also instrumental in bringing in the Recycling program that our church currently participates in. Some of the proceeds that the youth receive from the recycling bins are donated to various charities around the Parma area, such as the Parma Animal Shelter, the Parma Branch of the Salvation Army and the Parma Hunger Center. The Junior High group participates annually in the national "Souper Bowl of Caring" campaign to raise money and awareness of the plight of the hungry in this country. All the money raised is donated to St. Herman's House of Hospitality. In addition, they also sponsor a child through the Compassion Child sponsorship program. In November, they attend the Christian Youth Conference called Acquire the Fire, that is held at the Wolstein Center. The Junior High Youth Group meets at least once a month after church for a short Bible Study and an outing of some sort, such as a movie or lunch. Join us!
